2023-10-04 12:52: PHP update from 8.0 to 8.2Today, we have sent reminders to customers about updating from PHP 8.0 to 8.2.
PHP 8.0 is no longer supported by PHP, and security support ends 26 November 2023.
To avoid problems with your website, you must update your software (e.g. Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Laravel) to support PHP 8.2 and newer.
You can already now upgrade to PHP 8.2 yourself.
IMPORTANT! Before upgrading, you must do the following:
- Update your software to support PHP 8.2 and newer
- Ensure that extensions/plugins support PHP 8.2 and newer
- Ensure that templates/themes support PHP 8.2 and newer
- Enable automatic updates for your software and extensions/templates/themes
The upgrade to PHP 8.2 is managed via self-service as follows:
- Login in to the control panel on our secure website
- Click on "My domains"
- Click on the domainname
- Enter the webhotel tab
- Click on "View/change" on the PHP line
- Select your desired PHP version
- Click on the "Update" button to save your change
The change takes effect within a few minutes.
If you experience problems, you may temporarily downgrade to PHP 8.0 to make the webpages work again. The upgrade is inevitable, so contact your web developer if you experience problems with the upgrade.
After you/your web developer have fixed any problems, it is important that you test upgrading to PHP 8.2 yourself.
After November 26 you will no longer be able to downgrade to PHP 8.0.
We automatically upgrade your webhotel to PHP 8.2 on December 4, 2023, if you still use PHP 8.0.
